Will my tears dry up completely after the surgery? Will I experience dry eyes?
Absolutely not. Your tear production continues at its natural pace. This surgery does not stop production; it only allows excess tears that are overflowing due to the blockage to drain properly into the nose. So your tearing problem will end, but your eye will retain its healthy moisture.
Will the silicone tube placed in my eye obstruct my vision or cause any discomfort?
The tube is extremely thin, flexible, and transparent. It is located in the tear duct and is not visible from the outside unless you look very closely. It absolutely does not obstruct your field of vision, and it does not cause any stinging or burning in your eye. Most of our patients don't even feel the tube's presence.
